A Greensburg attorney has been asked to oversee the Register of Wills office. The Trib reports that James Antoniono will take over operations as temporary conservator of the office on May 28th. In the order signed by Judge Harry Smail, Jr. that the current Register of Wills, Sherry Hamilton “has forfeited her role as the sole and chief administrator of the office by being derelict in her duties and responsibilities” and that her further duties will be determined by Antoniono and that she will be treated as an employee, and will be expected to work as all other employees in the office. Hamilton is due for a sentencing hearing on June 17th for violating court orders to take corrective action concerning the backlog that delayed adoption certificates and appeals.
