HEMPFIELD AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT HIRES SUPERINTENDENT

Hempfield School District has hired its next superintendent. The Trib reports that the school board approved hiring Mark Holtzman, the current superintendent at Beaver School District at a meeting this week. He will start his five-year contract on July 1st and will be paid an annual salary of $208,000 along with a $2000 doctorate stipend. He was chosen out of fifteen candidates for the position. He comes in as the district is getting ready to re-start a major renovation project at the district high school.
