Local officials and community members are honoring the sacrifices of Westmoreland County police officers who have died in the line of duty. The county District Attorney’s Office hosted a law enforcement memorial service at Saint Clair Park in Greensburg yesterday. Around 100 people were in attendance as the 28 police officers who have lost their lives while serving in the county since 1903 were remembered. District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli is also planning to have a law enforcement memorial placed outside the Westmoreland County Courthouse by sometime this summer.
