WOMAN KILLED IN BOLIVAR FIRE

An 84-year-old woman was killed and her husband was burned in a fire in Bolivar this morning. Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson confirmed that 84-year-old Joanna Policichio was found dead inside the home in the 800 block of McKinley Street. Her husband, who was not identified by name in reports, was flown to UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh for treatment and is listed in “serious” condition. The fire started around 1:30 this morning. No word on the extent of the damage or how it started, but state police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
