Local officials in Lower Burrell are putting some limitations on fireworks. This week, the City Council passed a measure that prohibits the use of consumer fireworks without permission from the property owner and stipulates that they cannot be directed toward a person, building, or vehicle. Users are also banned from setting off fireworks between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., except around some holidays, including Independence Day and New Year’s. Fines up to one-thousand dollars are possible for individuals who are repeat violators of the ordinance.
