The Bushy Run Battlefield and Museum is getting some help from the surrounding community as they remain closed due to damage from a tornado in June. The Bushy Run American Legion Post, based in Claridge, has given the historic site five-thousand dollars. Museum manager Matt Adams is thankful for the assistance, saying it will help to make up for having to cancel the annual battle reenactment that generates donations from the public each year. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is covering the cost to clear out the many trees that were brought down across the 200-acre-plus property. State officials will determine when the site is safe enough to reopen.
