Burn bans in Derry and Unity Townships were lifted on Saturday. The Trib reports that the bans were put in place following a stretch of dry weather in the area. Several recent rainstorms have brought water levels back to acceptable levels. Burning of paper, cardboard and yard waste in an appropriate barrel is permitted while fires are attended from 10 AM to 5 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in Derry Borough while Unity will allow brush and branch burning only on Tuesdays and Saturdays in an appropriate barrel.
