A New Stanton man was ordered to serve jail time for sexually assaulting a Mt. Pleasant woman during a Halloween party in Hempfield. The Trib reports that 29-year-old Anthony Lucas was convicted in a jury trial in January of lesser charges of sexual assault and indecent assault by forcible compulsion but found him not guilty of rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. Lucas’ accuser claimed he forced himself on her in the bathroom during the holiday party attended by more than a half-dozen guests. Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger imposed what he said was a mitigated sentence that requires Lucas to serve one year, less a day, to two years less a day in the county jail, along with three years of probation.
