A retired Ligonier Valley teacher is asking for an investigation into how an incident concerning a special needs student and her was handled. The Trib reports that on February 7th of 2023, Linda O’Sullivan was assaulted by a special needs student that resulted in injuries. The district called the incident an accident. O’Sullivan said that the student was not to blame, but the district was for not taking action to protect other students and staff from the boy’s violent behavior. At this month’s school board meeting and on social media, O’Sullivan called for an investigation of district Superintendent Tim Kantor, charging that he failed to act on previous concerns reported in September 2022 about the student’s behavior. She also faulted Ed Moran, the district’s director of education and special education.
