WESTMORELAND COMMUNITY ACTION LAUNCHES HOUSING PROJECT IN MONESSEN

Westmoreland Community Action is launching a novel housing and revitalization project in Monessen.  The organization is placing five prefabricated homes on empty lots along Motheral Avenue where blighted structures once stood.  First Commonwealth Bank has provided 750-thousand dollars toward the project through a federal affordable housing initiative.  The homes that are built on the plots will be reserved for low-income residents who would struggle to purchase their own property otherwise.
