A skimming device was found at the checkout lane of a New Kensington Grocery Store. The Trib reports the device was found at the Golden Dawn store on Wednesday. Store co-owner Jim Faccenda said that the device was found the day after representatives of the state Inspector General’s Office visited the store. The agents were investigating a person’s concerns that their electronic benefits card had been hacked through a skimmer. An employee of a company that Golden Dawn uses for its information technology services found the device. It was removed and reported to the state Inspector General’s Office and New Kensington police, but neither agency has issued a statement on the issue. Faccenda said that the device was found on lane two, and if you used that checkout over the last few days, you are asked to monitor your account.
