The Hempfield School Board approved buying six more weapons detectors. The Trib reports that the district bought six of these in July, and after testing from the district earlier this year, will buy six more. Students at the high school, Harrold School and two middle schools will walk through the weapons detectors everyday, according to Superintendent Mark Holtzman. The board also voted to pay $2,500 stipends to staff members who agree to operate and monitor the weapons detectors each morning. The devices will be set up in a week or two.
