Valley high school in the New Kensington-Arnold School District is closed today after a shots fired incident in New Kensington yesterday. The Trib reports that District Superintendent Chris Sefcheck said that they want to be sure their high school students were cleared and enough safeguards are in place in case anything carried over. Students will not have remote or virtual classes today. No victims were found in the shooting that was reported on Kenneth Avenue. Police say officers responded to the area and chased a suspect for about five minutes before he disappeared, likely into one of the houses. The suspect was described by police as a light-skinned Black male in his late teens to early 20s and was dressed in all black. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Kensington Police Department at 724-339-7533.
