A New Kensington man was found guilty of kidnapping and robbery in connection with incidents in December of 2022. The Trib reports that the verdict against 41-year-old Steven Best, Jr. came after two hours of deliberation. He was acquitted of one count of simple assault. His accuser claimed that she was held against her will for several hours when she tried to return to her home in Eastern Ohio following an overnight visit. The prosecution said Best used his large size to intimidate his victim when she attempted to leave his home. A sentencing hearing will be held in three months, and he will be in Westmoreland County Jail until then.
