The Norwin School District has agreed to a plan from the federal Department of Education to comply with laws concerning racial discrimination. The Trib reports that this stems from incidents in October of 2021 where some students were seen wearing the confederate flag on clothing during “‘merica day”, and a student informed the administration about it. Other incidents were also reported over a 10-month span. Under the terms of the agreement, Norwin has to take several steps to make sure racial discrimination is addressed.
