Fire crews affected by Hurricane Helene and its remnants will be aided by some donations from our area. The Trib reports that fire departments have started dropping off donations of turnout gear and other equipment in New Kensington. New Ken fire chief Ed Saliba said they also received confirmation that two fire engines and an ambulance will also be donated to the effort. The donation drive is being run by The FD Relief Mission of Western PA, and the group is expected to make multiple runs to North Carolina from New Ken over the next few weeks.
