A Ligonier Township supervisor has filed a lawsuit alleging that the police department and three officers have targeted him for retribution over his efforts to reform the department. The Trib reports that Supervisor Erik Ross was cited during Fort Ligonier Days last October after a run in with the officers as they drove along Main Street in an all-terrain vehicle. The officers contended there was a physical and verbal altercation that resulted in Ross being charged with a summary harassment offense that resulted in a $100 fine. The verdict was overturned in May. Ross claims the officers misused the criminal justice system in an effort to tarnish his reputation and discredit his actions.
