The Democratic Westmoreland County Commissioner has called an investigation into possible double-voting “a waste of time”. The Trib reports that the remarks came from Commissioner Ted Kopas. The probe by the Westmoreland County DA’s office was initiated by Representative Eric Nelson out of Hempfield, who claimed he found duplicate names in voting rolls in the county. Chief County Detective Ron Zona said the investigation is continuing and would not comment further on the matter.
