A Hempfield man pleaded guilty to charges connected to a murder-for-hire plot against his estranged sister. The Trib reports that 64-year-old Peter Cute was caught after he met with undercover detectives on April 19th and offered to pay them $1000 to have his sister killed the next day. Cute, who has been in jail since his arrest, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal solicitation to commit murder. He faces up to 20 years in prison, but Assistant Public Defender Sarah Reeb told the judge she will seek a mitigated sentence as her client suffers from physical ailments that left him confined to a wheelchair.
