New Kensington officials and the garbage hauler for the Valley Royal Court apartments say that the garbage from the overflowing dumpsters will be removed soon. The Trib reports that the dumpsters near Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Fourth Avenue and one on the other side of the fence from the JFK Playground on Fourth Avenue were overflowing earlier this week. The reason the garbage has piled up is because Shank Waste Service has not been paid by the property owner. Prompted by the city’s code enforcement office, the garbage is now expected to be picked up the day after a payment from the property manager, Boston-based WinnCompanies, to Shank clears. No word on when that would be. Representatives with WinnCompanies have not commented on the issue.
