A Greensburg man is in custody after a standoff with SWAT officers yesterday at his home on Perry Avenue. The Trib reports that 34-year-old Tyler Schultheis was wanted on a warrant for aggravated assault, strangulation and other crimes when police obtained a search warrant for his home. After threatening officers around 6:20 AM, Greensburg Police brought in the county SWAT team. Schultheis refused to comply with demands and tear gas did not affect him. Police found him hiding in a closet on the second floor. He was taken into custody at 11:00 AM. He now faces new charges of resisting arrest and obstructing police. A preliminary hearing is set for December 26th.
