County Commissioners are expected to approve a contract to buy a new backup generator for the Greensburg Courthouse complex. The Trib reports that the project will cost about $2.2 million. Commissioner Sean Kertes called the purchase a way of them doing their due diligence to maintain their building. The backup generator project will be paid for, in part, by a $500,000 state grant. The county will use capital funds, allocated as part of next year’s spending plan, to cover the remaining expense for the equipment. The new generator will replace one in use since the 1970’s.
