Greg McCloskey, who has been a go-to man for the county, has decided to retire from his post as the head of the election bureau. The Trib reports that his retirement was acknowledged by the county commissioners yesterday. McCloskey was a West Penn Power employee before moving on to the county parks and rec director in 2009. He was promoted to public works director a year later and, over the next decade, became the commissioners’ go-to man for any difficult problems that arose. He was appointed in 2021 to be the head of the election bureau after his predecessor was fired over what commissioners said was ongoing mismanagement of the office.
