PENN TOWNSHIP CITIZENS CONCERNED ABOUT PROPOSED TURNPIKE INTERCHANGE

Some citizens in Penn Township have concerns about the proposed turnpike interchange going in between 2035 and 2038.  The Trib reports that the turnpike announced in 2023 that it would install an interchange in the area of the Route 130 intersection Sandy Hill, Nike Site and Pleasant Valley roads and Preliminary designs for the $60-million-to-$90-million project were unveiled during a meeting at Penn-Trafford High School in November.  Some people are concerned with the volume of traffic in the area once the interchange is active and others are concerned that the neighborhood will no longer be peaceful.
