Police are investigating an incident that happened Sunday afternoon at the Monroeville Mall. WTAE-TV reports that police responded to a call of shots fired at the mall around 3:00 PM, but would later determine that the information was unfounded. The mall was on lockdown for over an hour until Monroeville police sent word out that the mall was safe. The alert also said police were unable to confirm if “any gun shots occurred at the shopping center.” Officials told shoppers to resume normal operations. Police said the situation most likely stemmed from an altercation between two individuals but, no arrests have been made.
