A man was killed Friday night after he was hit by a cargo train in Hempfield Township. The Westoreland County Coroner’s office said 60-year-old Charles Boban was walking near the railroad tracks when a Norfolk Southern train came down the tracks around 7:00 PM. Despite several audio and visual warnings, Boban did not move away and was hit by the train. State Police and Norfolk Southern police are investigating the incident. The coroner said Boban died due to blunt force trauma.
