Latrobe City Council will soon consider an ordinance concerning permitted zones for smoke and vape shops and neighborhood convenience stores and another for establishments operating gaming devices. The Trib reports that the gaming device ordinance was inspired by a man who wants to set up a gaming facility in the downtown commercial zone. City Manager Terry Carcella said that because the city’s zoning regulations lack a provision for such a use, the application was denied. The other ordinance would also cover businesses that are not a part of the zoning regulations. The ordinances are available for review at the Latrobe municipal building. They will be the subject of a hearing before city council at 6:30 p.m on Monday, January 13.
