A representative of a younger generation is now taking over leadership of the Greensburg-Jeannette NAACP. Twenty-eight-year-old Gabrielle Skillings has been elected president of the organization. Skillings says she hopes to bring a new perspective and find ways to educate more young people as they continue their work to end racism and ensure equal rights for minority citizens. Longtime president Ruth Tolbert is staying on as vice president. The Greensburg-Jeannette NAACP is also hosting their annual Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Service at First Antioch Baptist Church later on this evening.
