Hempfield Supervisors will vote next Monday to seek bids for the demolition of the former state prison in Greensburg. The Trib reports that Township Manager Aaron Siko said the bids will allow officials to see what the demolition will cost and if additional funds are needed. The township has $2 million from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program for the project. Officials want to demolish the buildings and redevelop the land.
