DONEGAL MAN FACES COUNTS OF INSURANCE FRAUD AND THEFT

A Donegal man faces multiple counts of insurance fraud and theft.  The Trib reports that 45-year-old Walter Smith is accused of scamming two insurance companies on seperate occasions with false claims totalling over $30,000 concerning dog-scratch damage to his SUV.  Smith confessed to filing the fraudulent claims because he needed the money.  He is free on $25,000 unsecured bond, and is due for a preliminary hearing on February 14th.
