MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY PAYS TRIBUTE TO LAST CIVIL WAR SOLDIER BURIED IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY

One of the ceremonies held yesterday for memorial day paid tribute to the last Civil War Veteran to be buried in Westmoreland County.  WTAE-TV reports that the ceremony was held Union Cemetery and focused on the grave of John E. Weigel, who served in the 189th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Sons of Union Veterans Cribbs Camp 276 commander William Bray called the ceremony a way to respect their memories and pay tribute to what they went through.
