Western PA residents will start to see smoke from the Canadian Wildfires hitting the area today. WTAE-TV reports that wildfires in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba have caused significant damage up there, but the smoke from that has been moving down into the Midwest and headed east into our area. The smoke could block out the sun, and for sensitive populations, could cause respiratory problems. If you are unusually sensitive to pollution and air quality changes, consider shortening your time outdoors or limiting your activity level. This may include children, older adults and anyone with underlying respiratory illnesses.
