FORMER BISHOP BRANDT HAS DIED

A former bishop in the Greensburg Catholic Diocese has died.  The Trib reports that Bishop Emeritus Lawrence Eugene Brandt was the leader of the diocese from 2004 to 2015.  He lead the diocese through several changes, including helping finances improve, and addressing the declining number of Catholics.  Current Bishop Larry Kulick said Brandt asked him to study canon law and called him an incredibly disciplined man.  The cause of death was not announced by the diocese.  Funeral arrangements have not been released.
