Some federal grant dollars are likely to be split among a handful of improvements in Arnold. Local leaders say they will have about 200 thousand dollars to work with after some necessary payments and they have consulted with the public on where that money will go. The City Council has recommended that 50 thousand be used to refurbish the 18th Street ball field, another 50 thousand to go to the fire department, and 100 thousand should be invested into repairs of a sewage pumping station on Riverside Drive. The council also says some of the remaining money could be used to improve accessibility to the restrooms at Roosevelt Park. Another public hearing on the distribution of the dollars will happen during the July eighth council meeting.
