GOVERNOR SHAPIRO JOINS LAWSUIT AGAINST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is joining a lawsuit against the Trump administration over sweeping cuts to federal funding for states.  The lawsuit filed yesterday by 20 states and Washington, DC argues the President is misusing a single provision buried in federal regulations to strip away billions of dollars in critical funding.  It claims the regulation doesn’t authorize federal agencies to terminate grants based on changes in agency preferences.  Shapiro said “Pennsylvanians pay their taxes to the federal government, and they deserve the goods and services that were promised to them in return.
