DERRY COMMUNITY POOL TO REMAIN OPEN ON MODIFIED SCHEDULE

Derry’s community pool will remain open on a modified schedule.  KDKA-TV reports that Derry Borough Council last night approved a modified schedule that will allow the pool to close one day out of the week, which saves the borough $500 a week.  Council said this is due to a recent donation from two people of $3500.  The pool had to close on certain days due to a lack of available lifeguards, but they will now all get a pay increase and be reimbursed for their certifications or recertifications.
