LIGONIER VALLEY SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE FILLING VACANCY FOR NEXT FOUR MONTHS

A woman who is a candidate on the ballot for Ligonier Valley School Board is filling a vacancy on the board for the next four months.  The Trib reports that county judges yesterday agreed to name Christy Boyd to the board, taking the seat left vacant by the death of Joseph Vella.  She was one of four applicants for the vacancy.  The selection of an appointee fell to the court after six initial applicants for the vacant board seat each failed to gain support from at least five of the remaining school board members.
