NEW WESTMORELAND COUNTY PANEL LOOKING FOR WAYS TO PREVENT SUICIDES

A new panel in Westmoreland County is looking for ways to prevent suicides.  The county’s Suicide Fatality Review Team held their first organizational meeting last month.  The group consists of social workers, public safety officials, and local leaders who will look into suicide cases to come up with ways those types of deaths can be avoided in the future.  Officials started exploring ideas for the team after the county saw a record 62 suicides in 2022.
