An investigation is underway into what caused the 911 system outage across Pennsylvania. The system went down on Friday, forcing everyone in need of immediate help to call their local department’s non-emergency line. Nine-one-one services were fully restored on Saturday, but the cause of the issue remains unknown. PEMA Director Randy Padfield called the outage an “anomaly,” noting that the 911 system has worked “flawlessly” through severe weather and other emergency situations.
