To be eligible for the award, healthcare organizations must undergo an evaluation by Joint Commission reviewers to make sure that compliance standards are met. The achievement highlights the system’s unwavering commitment to adhering to best practices in stroke care, resulting in exceptional patient care and outcomes. Independence Health’s Westmoreland County Stroke Program Medical Director Dr. Cathleen Adams said in a statement that the certification is a reflection of the dedication and collaboration of the team across all three Westmoreland County hospitals.
