Two men who were carrying a large quantity of fentanyl-laced heroin in 2023 were given lengthy sentences in Westmoreland County Court yesterday. The Trib reports that 39-year-old Mario Caba and 29-year-old Elvis Ventura, both of Philadelphia, were arrested during a traffic stop on the PA Turnpike. Prosecutors said about 40,000 stamp bags were found in a specially constructed compartment of their vehicle when it was pulled over on February 28, 2023. Ventura was ordered to serve 6 and a half to 14 years in prison while Caba will serve six to 12 years. Both were given credit for two years served since their arrest.
