County Commissioners have hired a new deputy director for the election bureau. The Trib reports that 31-year-old Hannah Lindley of Bentleyville in Washington County will serve as the second-in-command for the office that oversees elections. She served in a similar role in the Washington County office for six years. Lindley’s hiring culminates a reorganization of the office that has seen years of administrative turnover, including the resignation of the county’s longtime director following the 2020 presidential primary, the firing of an assistant director later that year and the hiring and firing of a new director in 2021, the appointment of public works director Greg McCloskey in 2021 and then the county technology director after he retired. Commissioners said she will be viewed as a potential successor to Ross.
