The Greensburg Salem School Board was ordered yesterday to turn over documents, including sensitive student records, to attorneys on both sides in the case of alleged mistreatment in a special education classroom. The Trib reports that teacher Brooke Stanko, classroom aide Teri Kepchia and four other employees are charged with mistreating three students ages 6-8 in their care. Authorities contend Stanko and Kepchia sprayed lemon juice and soap into the mouth of one child and restrained that child and two others with soundproofing mats in September and October 2023. They also were charged with failing to report the incidents. A trial for all six defendants has been delayed until at least October.
