HUSBAND OF LIGONIER WOMAN KILLED BY FALLING TREE BRANCH FILES LAWSUIT

The husband of the Ligonier Woman who was killed by a falling tree branch at a McKeesport Park is suing the city in Allegheny County Court.  The Trib reports that Gendie Miller was killed on July 24th at Renziehausen Park as she and her husband sat under a tree to watch their daughter at softball practice.  The husband, William, says the city was negligent to leave the decaying branch suspended above a paved pedestrian and spectator zone near the concession stand, and failed to inspect the tree in a timely manner.  He is seeking damages for himself and his daughter.
