An Allegheny County Jail Guard pleaded guilty last week to driving while intoxicated in a crash three years ago in North Huntingdon. The Trib reports that 52-year-old Dwight D. Edwards of Penn Township was accused in connection with the November 2022 crash on Morris Avenue when police said his pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle head on. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to dismiss one felony count of aggravated assault while drunken driving. In return, Edwards agreed to pay more than $115,000 in restitution to the victim and an insurance company. That payment was made Friday following the court hearing.
