DELMONT COUPLE TO BE TRIED SEPARATELY

A Delmont couple charged with torturing and killing their adopted five-year-old son will be tried separately.  The Trib reports that Lauren and Jacob Maloberti are each charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy and related offenses in the death of Landon in February of 2023.  Doctors testified the child sustained dozens of bruises and other physical injuries, was deprived of nutrition, forced to drink from a toilet, forage for food in the family kitchen after bedtime, humiliated by his parents and isolated from other family members, neighbors and school. Prosecutors also contend the Maloberti’s failed to get medical help for their son.  Lauren’s trial is tentatively set for October and Jacob’s trial is scheduled for November.
