NEW KEN SHOOTING VICTIM IN STABLE CONDITION

The victim in Monday’s shooting in New Kensington was in stable condition on Tuesday.  The Trib reports that the County DA’s Spokesperson Melanie Jones said the victim did not know 17-year-old Logan King who was charged in connection with the shooting.  Authorities believe a fight led to the shooting near the Valley Royal Court apartments, and that King barricaded himself inside an apartment, which triggered a response from the SWAT team.  He was arrested without further incident.  King is in Westmoreland County Jail and a preliminary hearing is set for September 18th.
