Today marks 24 years since the terrorist attacks on the United States that destroyed the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York, a portion of the Pentagon building and a plane crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The Trib reports that a ceremony is being planned for Lower Burrell to start at 8:46 AM, the time the first plane made impact at the World Trade Center, at the American Legion on Wildlife Lodge Road. A remembrance ceremony is also planned today at IUP at 11:10 AM in the Oak Grove. A program is also scheduled for Friday at noon at Haymaker Village Plaza in Monroeville being put on by the Turtle Creek Valley Rotary.
