MT. PLEASANT MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER IN JAIL

A middle school teacher from Mt. Pleasant is accused of exchanging nude photos with a 14-year-old child.  The Trib reports that 30-year-old Ashley Mongell faces charges after an investigation that was sparked when Instragram made a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  Mongell allegedly shared the pictures with the victim over Snapchat.  State police searched the homes of both the victim and Mongell.  She would later admit to having inappropriate conversations and sending nude images of herself in exchange for pictures of the victim.  She is now in Fayette County Jail on $40,000 bail with a preliminary hearing set for September 24th.
