A former Jeannette man who has served over 30 years is awaiting a retrial in connection with a 1993 fatal fire. The Trib reports that lawyers for 58-year-old James Young say his speedy trial rights have been violated. They will ask a Westmoreland County judge to release him on nominal bond at a hearing next month. Young was originally convicted in 1995 of arson and three counts of first-degree murder or the deadly house fire in Jeannette two years earlier that killed his wife and two children.
